Our goal is to feature only "the" best divorce professionals on BestDivorceHelp.com. We have established criteria, in consultation with professionals in the legal, financial and counseling fields, for each area of practice to qualify for BestDivorceHelp.com.  

Lawyers:

Lawyers who have any of the following qualifications:

• Board or specialist certification from the state/province (if applicable in your state/province).
• Member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
• Recognized as a "Super Lawyer" by Law and Politics Magazine.
• Recognized for outstanding contribution by any local, state/province or national bar association.
• Have served as a member of the executive of any local, state/provincial, or national, bar association.
• Can provide references from 5 other family law attorneys (outside of their firm) as to their ability and professional conduct.

Financial Planners:

• A Certified Divorce Financial Analyst
  or
• Must have at least 10 years experience as a financial planner (CFP) and have worked with a minimum of 20 divorcing people.

Therapists:

• Must be certified by a recognized state/province, or national certifying board, and have a minimum of 10 years experience working with divorcing people and/or children of divorce.

Accountants:

• Must be a member of the NACVA
  or
• A CPA, CGA, or other recognized national designation with a minimum of 5 years experience having worked on a minimum of 20 divorce cases.

Mediators:

• Must be a member of a nationally recognized mediators association and have been in practice for a minimum of 10 years and have worked on a minimum of 20 divorce cases.
